Bike 4 Books is fun, but what does it do? Bike 4 Books raises money to support Newport Public Library. It helps put books, videos, audiobooks, music CDs, and other materials on the shelves of the library for all the people in our community to use. It helps provide quality programs like Preschool Story Time and Summer Reading Club, and it helps provide a welcoming community gathering place. Since Newport Public Library does not receive money from its county government, the library must raise over half of its operating money through fundraisers like the Bike4Books bike tour.
Can my kids ride, too? Yes, this is a family ride. There is a 5K loop around Little Buffalo State Park park that is pretty much level. If your kids ride with you on other rides, they are welcome to ride in this one.
